Prohibited Countries List

1. Purpose

Corpus Legal does not act for clients, or in respect of activities, connected to jurisdictions subject to comprehensive international sanctions or otherwise prohibited under our risk policies. This page explains how we approach restricted jurisdictions.

2. Sanctions-based restrictions

We screen all clients and connected parties against sanctions regimes maintained by the United Nations, the European Union, the United Kingdom (OFSI) and the United States (OFAC), and we will not act where doing so would breach those regimes.

3. Prohibited jurisdictions

As a rule, we will not accept work connected to jurisdictions or territories subject to comprehensive sanctions, which currently include:

• Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (North Korea)
• Iran
• Syria
• Cuba
• Russia and Belarus
• The non-government-controlled territories of Ukraine (Crimea, and parts of the Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions)

4. High-risk jurisdictions

For jurisdictions identified as high-risk or subject to increased monitoring by the FATF, we apply enhanced due diligence and may decline to act on a case-by-case basis.

5. Updates

Sanctions and risk designations change frequently. This list is indicative only, is reviewed regularly, and the applicable official sanctions lists take precedence at all times.
